Dear friends, it is time to announce a new project we are working on with great enthusiasm: Eco.Cà, funded by the National Tourism Fund (FUNT) and promoted by the Italian Ministry of Tourism and the Campania Region, within the public call aimed at strengthening regional tourism competitiveness on national and international markets.
For us, this project represents an important milestone, but above all an opportunity to give concrete form to a vision we have been pursuing for years: to tell the story of, and enhance, Campania’s biodiversity through a model of sustainable ecotourism that is inclusive and scientifically grounded.
The experiences we offer are not simple outdoor activities, but rather journeys of discovery led by professional researchers and zoologists, engaged daily in scientific research and wildlife conservation projects. This approach allows us to combine scientific dissemination, ecosystem protection, and thoughtful visitor engagement, transforming every experience into an opportunity for authentic learning and a driver of sustainable economic development for areas often excluded from traditional tourism circuits.
Eco.Cà is based on a simple observation: Campania is an extraordinarily biodiversity-rich region, yet it is still little recognised as a reference destination for ecotourism and birdwatching at an international level. Not because of a lack of habitats or species, but because this natural heritage is often presented in a fragmented way, without an offer capable of communicating it in an engaging and, at the same time, scientifically sound manner.
With this project, we aim to bridge this gap by developing an offer of nature-based tourism that involves all five provinces of the region. As we always do, the new itineraries we are designing will combine wildlife observation – with a particular focus on bird species – with the discovery of local cultural and food and wine heritage. The idea is to guide visitors on a discovery of the region, away from the beaten track, offering authentic ecotourism experiences deeply rooted in the local area. This journey also addresses the issue of accessibility: part of the offering will be designed to be accessible to people with physical, sensory, or cognitive disabilities. The goal is to make sustainable tourism in Campania more accessible, because contact with nature should not be a privilege for the few, but an experience available to all.
Alongside the development of ecotourism and birdwatching packages in Campania, the project also includes a strong investment in training. In the coming months, we will organise a course for birdwatching guides, with the goal of developing new professional figures able to combine scientific expertise, communication skills, and nature tourism management.
Eco.Cà will also provide an opportunity to strengthen Campania’s visibility on international markets through participation in specialised fairs focused on nature-based and sustainable tourism. We have already taken part in major international events, such as the World Bird Fair in Taiwan and the International Experiential Tourism Fair in Venice, where we observed strong interest in Campania as a destination for birdwatching and nature tourism.
In addition, we plan to involve photographers, influencers, and content creators active in the field of ecotourism and birdwatching, inviting them to take part in dedicated press tours. These tours will be designed as true field experiences, leading participants to discover protected areas, rural landscapes, and lesser-known corners of Campania, with the aim of telling the story of the region through informed and authentic perspectives.

In conclusion, Kayla Nature continues to do what has always guided our work: using biodiversity as a key to read landscapes, tell their stories, and protect them. The FUNT funding provides us with the tools to make this vision stronger and more impactful, building a model of ecotourism in Campania capable of generating value for local communities and reinforcing the link between conservation and development.
In the coming months, we will share the evolution of the Eco.Cà project with you, introducing the territories involved, the activities we are developing, and the people who will play a central role in this journey. A new path has just begun, and we are happy to tell its story step by step.
